Providing Global Resources

Drawing from the experiences and expertise of Baptist leaders around the world, the Baptist World Alliance hosts a variety of webinars and workshops throughout the year to encourage and equip our members. Browse below to see the upcoming webinar schedule or to view past webinars.

    Moving Beyond the Pandemic Workshop

How can the church serve faithfully in its context and community in 2022?

Many are slipping back into extreme poverty, national governments are weakening because of political and social strife, and economies are struggling as markets are continually disrupted. Some church leaders are recognizing that, in this context, their ministry hasn’t stopped. It is actually just beginning. So how can the church and development organizations begin to build back and build up in a world that is discovering new norms and ways of being? Join us to hear from a global community development strategist, an investment specialist, and a practitioner.

    Holistic Mission Guide Webinar Series

In the months since the release of the Baptist World Alliance Holistic Mission Guide, we have been encouraged by the positive response from Baptists around the world. As the world continues to face challenges, it is critical for us to continue learning, growing, and serving together. With that in mind, the BWA Commission on Mission is offering a 3-part webinar series designed to explore and dialogue about the concepts found within the Mission Guide.
Holistic Mission Webinar Series: Part Two
January 18, 5:30 pm BST (São Paolo Time)
Redux Presentation: January 25, 3 pm JST (Tokyo Time)
The second webinar in the series will guide church leaders and grassroots church members through the theme of “New Models of Doing Church.” Jerson B. Narciso from the Philippines will share about “Leading the Church Beyond the Pandemic” and Lília Dias Marianno (Brazil) will address how to “Be the Church Outside the Temple.” A powerful story by Asha Sanchu (Nagaland, India) entitled “Light in the Dark, Tiny Room” will also be shared.
Check back soon to view a recording of Part One in the series.

Christian Unity: What Difference Does It Make?

In John’s Gospel, Jesus links the unity of the church to its mission: to make Christ known to the whole world
(John 17:21). In this webinar facilitated by the BWA Commission on Baptist Doctrine and Christian Unity, Baptist leaders from around the world address the challenges and benefits of engaging with other Christian traditions.

    Safeguarding Workshop

In May, BFAD facilitated a Safeguarding Workshop addressing what safeguarding is and why it is important for organizations. With a special focus on faith and cross-cultural contexts, Mel Harwin (Safeguarding Officer for Transform Aid International) covers international safeguarding standards, risks, and responsibilities. The session also features case studies from ministry partners around the world about their safeguarding journeys.

In response to COVID-19, BFAD has hosted a webinar series featuring leadership experts on various topics. To watch the webinar series focused on psychosocial support and wellbeing, click below.
